Ephedra and Aspirin
Ephedra is commonly paired with aspirin in the populr ECA stack. Aspirin, also known
as acetylsalicylic acid, is a drug often used for its ability to relieve minor aches
and pains, relieve fevers, and for its anti-inflammatory properties. Aspririn has
been used for thousands of years – in fact, Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician
for whom the Hippocratic Oath is named, wrote in the 5th century BC about a bitter
powder extrated from White Willow bark (Salix alba) that could ease aches and pains,
and reduce fevers.
Today, aspirin is also used as an anticoagulant, which means it has blood thinning
abilities, and thus is a very effective long-term means of preventing heart attacks
– also, after a major heart attack, patients are often given large doses of aspirin.
Moreover, aspirin is a vital component of the ECA stack,
which is a combination of ephedra,
caffeine, and aspirin. As mentioned before, aspirin is effective at fighting
fevers, and essentially does this by increasing the body’s heat tolerance.
When someone exercises, especially with ephedra and caffeine, the body undergoes
thermogenesis – this essentially means that internal heat is generated by the muscles
while exercising, and this heat production is enhanced with the addition of both
ephedra and caffeine due to an increased amount of fat being burned.
Aspirin works well in the ECA stack
because it increases the body’s tolerance to heat, and thus it allows the effects
of ephedra and caffeine to persist longer in the body. In essence, this means that
your body is able to burn fat for much longer periods of time.
