Ephedra Dangers
By itself, ephedra is completely natural and is not dangerous
- however, there are some side effects to
ephedra (mostly associated with not following the recommended dosage), and there
are some people that should not take ephedra.
However, others have said that ephedra should not be taken for more than 5 week
in a row, and recommend a rest period after a few weeks of continual usage.
This is because studies have shown that ephedra can be demanding to the liver –
this means, of course, you should consult your physician if you have any pre-existing
liver conditions before using ephedra.
The reason some people might experience liver problems is because ephedra increases
the amount of waste that must be filtered and cleaned by the liver – in essence,
the increase in the amount of waste is simply because of the increased fat being
burned in your body.
However, many people do not have any kind of complications when using ephedra –
in fact, some people have been using ephedra for decades and have not experienced
any problems at all.
The answer here seems to be following the recommended dosage – like anything you
put in your body, moderation is key. Even water, which is vital to the well being
of a human being, can be lethal in extremely high doses
Following and never exceeding the recommended dosage of ephedra should avoid many
complications that can arise from an overdose. The recommended doses vary from product
to product, however, so please read the product label for ephedra.
