What is Ephedrine HCL?
Commonly sold over the counter as a bronchodilator, Ephedrine HCL is a synthetic
form of ephedra – on the other hand,
Ephedra itself is naturally occurring ephedrine (generally derived
from Mahuang), is typically
solely used in dietary supplements for weight loss and to boost energy levels. Conversely,
Ephedrine HCL is normally used as an oral decongestant. Moreover,
the April 12, 2004 FDA ban on ephedra did not include Ephedrine HCL products,
such as Vasopro – however, these products are not to be marketed for any form of
dietary usage.
Nevertheless, in spite of the fact that it is sold as an over the counter decongestant,
many people use Ephedrine HCL as a dietary supplement. For example, products such
as Kaizen contain 8mg of pure ephedrine HCL, while others like Vasopro contain 200mg
of Guaifeniesin. As a result, many people take a dose of a full
ECA stack, which combines ephedrine HCL with
caffeine pills and aspirin
– accordingly, they can effectively control the amount of each stack ingredient
themselves.
